WesStep Summer Dance & Heritage Training Program

Rooted in Culture. Rising Through Dance.

The WesStep Summer Dance & Heritage Training Program is a transformative two-week intensive designed to inspire, challenge, and empower young dancers through high-quality artistic training grounded in Caribbean culture and Afro-diasporic traditions.

Open to ages 10–18 and welcoming dancers of all levels, the program provides daily instruction in Afro-Caribbean dance, modern and contemporary technique, choreography, creative exploration, and performance technique. Participants will develop technical skills, artistic confidence, discipline, and a deeper appreciation for their cultural heritage while connecting with peers and professional artists in a supportive environment.

The program culminates in a community showcase, where participants will share their growth and celebrate the richness of Caribbean culture through performance.

Who can participate?
The program is open to dancers ages 7–18.

My child is 7 years old. Can they participate?
Yes. We are accepting dancers as young as 7 years old. Parents should consider their child's ability to participate in a full day of dance training from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break and short breaks throughout the day. Participation is ultimately at the parent's discretion.

Do dancers need prior training?
No. Dancers of all experience levels are welcome. Participants will be assessed on the first day and placed in groups according to age, experience, and ability.

What styles of dance will be taught?
Participants will receive training in Afro-Caribbean dance traditions, contemporary dance, modern dance, choreography, and performance technique.

What are the program dates and times?
The intensive runs July 27–August 7, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where will the program take place?
The program will be held at Harbor Club Saint Lucia.

What is included in tuition?
Tuition includes all classes, workshops, rehearsals, and participation in the culminating community showcase performance.

Are payment plans available?
Yes. Payment plans are available.

Will participants perform?
Yes. All participants will have the opportunity to perform in the culminating community showcase.
